At the heart of Mid-Pacific’s continued evolution lies the unwavering support of our community, and this year, we are honored to share news of an extraordinary gift. The Albert T. & Wallace T. Teruya Foundation has generously awarded Mid-Pacific a $750,000 grant to support the construction of a new middle school building—a project that marks a significant chapter in our school’s future.
“The generosity of the Teruya Foundation will leave an indelible mark on our community,” shares Dr. Paul Turnbull, president of Mid-Pacific. “This incredible gift brings us closer to our vision of providing a state-of-the-art environment where our middle schoolers can thrive both academically and personally. It is more than just a building—it’s a testament to our dedication to fostering the best possible experience for our students.”
The Teruya Foundation has long been a cherished partner in Mid-Pacific’s growth with contributions totaling over $1.25 million over the years. Past projects include the Middle School Innovation Project in 2014 and several key capital campaigns. Their generosity continues to transform our campus and community.
“This new facility will elevate how our students learn and connect with each other,” Dr. Turnbull continues. “We are deeply grateful for the Teruya Foundation’s steadfast belief in our mission and their role in helping us build a future of educational excellence.”
The new middle school building will feature modern classrooms, collaborative spaces, and technology-equipped learning areas designed to inspire innovation and exploration. It will replace Bingham Hall, which has stood since the mid-1950s, with a future-focused space ready to serve generations of students.
Wayne Teruya, Vice President of the Albert T. & Wallace T. Teruya Foundation and a proud 1965 Mid-Pacific alumnus, reflects on the Foundation’s enduring connection to the school: “Supporting Mid-Pacific’s mission to educate and inspire young minds is a privilege. We are excited to see this new building become a beacon of innovative educational practices, continuing the legacy of excellence for which Mid-Pacific is known.”
