“Playing water polo for Mid-Pacific has taught me important lessons that will go with me into college,” says Jaime. “My coaches were very supportive and allowed me to grow as an athlete, student, and person.”

“Playing in college was an opportunity I would not miss out on,” says Jaime. “I enjoy competing at a high level and being a student-athlete. I love the competitive nature of water polo as you need to be in great shape while having awareness and skill.”

“My freshman year I decided I wanted to try wrestling which was the spark for my love of this sport and to my surprise, I qualified for states. Unfortunately COVID prevented me from participating in wrestling my sophomore year, however, I decided to train independently to prepare for the next upcoming season.”

“It was very important to me to wrestle in college because wrestling has become part of who I am – it builds my self confidence and makes me physically and mentally stronger,” says Valynn. “What I love most is the mental and physical challenge, having to problem solve and make decisions in the moment with a high level of intensity. Wrestling has taught me important life skills like believing in myself, hard work pays off and to always believe that my goals are attainable.”
